No One Cares About Wild Elephants In India

This is so true.

It seems that 40 Wild Asian Elephants have died in the past 100 days in the North Eastern Indian State of Assam.

The Deaths of these Precious Wild Asian Elephants are the result of being killed by Trains as well as being poisoned by Poachers in their foraging areas.

Virtually No One cares for the Welfare and Safety of Wild Asian Elephants throughout the length and breadth of India as they are not State Animals or National Animals.

While The Deaths of Rhinos and Tigers in poaching cases or other wise evoke National Sympathy and Action the same is not the case with Wild Elephants.

It is a sad fact that while there are Elephant Reserves all across the country from Assam to Kerala they have precious little in terms of protection. They do not have the same level of protection like National Parks have.

Wild Asian Elephants are not on the Radar of any Federal or State Agency they are just left to their own devices to fend for themselves.

Asian Elephants who live in Reserved Forests and Wildlife Sanctuaries all across India are Flagship Species in more ways than one as they help in the germination of plants and trees in forests where they live when whatever they eat goes through their digestive system.

All Elephant Lovers need to act quickly to save Wild Elephants in India as well as their pristine habitat.
