The World’s Population of Elephants is on the brink of some catastrophic danger that has never occurred in the past 200 years.
In Central Africa as well as in West Africa Elephants are being exterminated like nobody's business.
In the past 8-10 years, at least 100,000 Elephants have been slaughtered for their invaluable tusks in countries such as Gabon, The Central African Republic, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, and South Sudan to name a few.
But what is really agonizing and distressing is that in some areas in Central Africa they are being slaughtered for the ever growing "Bush Meat Market".
Yes, Folks I am talking about "Smoked Elephant Meat" which is consumed by natives of Central Africa.
This is the real crisis which together with Ivory Poaching is decimating Elephant Populations.
Now, Let me turn my attention To Asian Elephants.
Asian Elephants in India specially in Southern India face grave danger on a daily basis from Ivory Poachers even in protected areas like Nagarhole National Park and Mudumalai Tiger Reserve to name a few.
More Than 100 Asian Elephants were killed in a gruesome manner in protected areas in Southern India from 2014-2016.
Finally What really perturbs me to a great extent is the denial by Governments in various countries about this poaching epidemic vis a vis Elephants.
